Neurolinguistic Programming
Did you know NLP is not called Neurolinguistic Programming, but Neuro Linguistic Programming?
Perhaps it is quite significant, the difference between the two.
NLP – Neuro Linguistic Programming is explained quite well if we take a step back and consider the three words.
Neuro Linguistic Programming
Neuro – all about the brain. How it works, especially how it processes and holds and recalls information.
Linguistic – language. The first model of NLP is the Meta Model. A model of models. The meta model is a detailed list of language structures that we use when we speak – its immensely useful for coaching, consulting and general interaction. If you want to have an advantage in making yourself understood and to understand any other person, learn the meta model.
Programming – the patterns or programs we run as humans. A skilled NLP professional will be looking for patterns of behaviour to understand the programming you are running. If you like, the software that operates your brain. The good news is a professional life coach can help you re-programme.
Why do some people say Neurolinguistic Programming
I really don’t know why some people say or write neurolinguistic programming instead of neuro linguistic programming. You can imagine a scenario where someone mentions to you neuro linguistic programming and when you researched it you thought it was called neurolinguistic programming. A really easy mistake to make and I am pleased I was able to clarify the difference.
